Today we woke up quite early
(for a week-end) to go at 11 :00 to visit Laima museum (the famous Latvian
chocolate producer) with Eva and her family. After the visit, there was a
workshop, and we had made our own chocolates, so nice ! You can see on the
picture chocolates I’ve made. Then we went near a lake not so far from Riga
(you can go there by tram), where there is a café/restaurant (CABO café) to
have a lunch. I ate one of a Latvian speciality : baked potatoes with cottage
cheese, it’s very tasty. It’s a very nice quiet place, I like it ! We went back
home, I’ve taken a small nap. And tonight it’s the “Balta Nakts” (White Night)
in Riga, so there are many artistic events. We went first at Dad café (with
Majka, Alina, Cindy and a friend of Majka), we took a lemon pie and a tea and
we were listening to a beatbox concert. Then we went to the French Institute,
and to the Cinema Splendid Palace (the Riga’s oldest cinema with luxuriant
architectural details, I’ve never seen a such beautiful cinema, it’s like a
palace!) to watch short movies but it was really weird, and with Majka, we had
a big fit of the giggles, so we left ! Then we went to see media/videos
exhibition. And after this cultural moment, we decided to have a drink in a
bar. We went to the bar we were thinking it calls “the ideal bar” but in fact
it’s the Ezitis bar (hedgehog bar), so great, one of my favourite bar in Riga.
Then we went to Radio Bar to dance (at least we have found a bar with music we
love for dancing) it was an AMAZING night ! We
went home at 4:00.
Aujourd’hui
on s’est réveillées un peu tôt (pour un week-end) pour aller visiter le musée
Laima à 11h (le célèbre producteur de chocolats lettons) avec Eva et sa
famille. Après la visite, il y’avait un atelier, et nous avons fabriqué nos
propres chocolats, c’était sympa ! Sur les photos, ce sont les chocolats
que j’ai fait. Puis nous sommes allés au bord d’un lac pas très loin de Riga
(on peut y aller en tramway), où il y’a un café/restaurant (CABO cafe), pour
déjeuner. J’ai mangé une spécialité lettone : une pomme de terre au four
avec du cottage cheese (ce fameux fromage letton !), c’est délicieux.
C’est un endroit calme et très sympa. J’aime beaucoup ! Nous sommes
rentrées à la maison, j’ai fait une petite sieste. Et ce soir c’est la
« Balta Nakts » (Nuit Blanche) à Riga, donc il y’a plein d’évènements
culturels et artistiques. Nous sommes d’abord allés au Dad Café (avec Majka,
Alina, Cindy et un ami de Majka), nous avons pris une tarte au citron et un
thé, tout en écoutant le concert de beatbox. Ensuite nous sommes allés à
l’institut français, puis au cinéma Splendid Palace (le plus vieux de Riga avec
des détails architecturaux luxuriants, je n’ai jamais vu un aussi beau cinéma,
c’est un vrai palais !) pour regarder des court-métrages mais c’était
vraiment bizarre, et avec Majka on a été prises d’un grand fou rire, donc on
est partis ! On est allé ensuite voir une exposition de vidéos/media. Et
après ce moment culturel, on a décidé d’aller prendre un verre dans un bar. On
est allés dans le bar dont on pensait qu’il s’appelait « the ideal
bar » mais en fait c’est Ezitis bar (le bar du hérisson), top, c’est un de
mes bars préférés de Riga. Ensuite on est allés au Radio Bar pour danser (enfin
nous avons trouvé un bar avec de la musique qu’on aime pour danser), c’était
une soirée/nuit géniale ! Nous sommes rentrées à 4h.
